At 8,700 feet between Solitude and Brighton, the Solitude Nordic Center's Silver Lake Day Lodge (801-536-5774) is a spectacular setting for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.

It has 20 km. of prepared trails for both classic and skating styles, plus ski and snowshoe rentals, lessons, light snacks and guided backcountry tours. During full moons, you can do moonlight cross-country skiing.
